I would not recommend Cape Spray Painters. Although the cupboards themselves look good, the overall experience was extremely poor and ended up costing me a significant amount of additional time and money along with leaving my home coated in toxic dust. The biggest issue was the spray paint overspray. This fine dust is toxic and a health hazard. Despite only working in my kitchen, paint dust spread throughout my home, including down a 4-metre passage into the bedrooms and bathroom. I had to hire professional cleaners to remove it from my upholstered furniture and carpets, and I have spent many hours washing linen and towels, mopping floors, and wiping down surfaces. Even after all of that, I am still finding paint dust in various places. I was told that plastic sheeting would be used to block off and cover my belongings, but this clearly did not happen. The workmanship also caused a considerable amount of damage. My walls, countertops and floors were sprayed the cupboard colour. Masking tape pulled paint off the walls, appliances were dragged across my wooden floors leaving deep gouges, and several areas of the cupboards were sprayed unevenly. The team left without cleaning up or mentioning any of the damage. Management insisted a painter wasn't needed and their team would fix the issues. Unfortunately, their repairs made things worse. In some places they painted the cupboards the wall colour, while other areas were covered up poorly or not at all. After considerable back and forth, they eventually agreed to pay for a professional painter to correct the damage, but not for the professional cleaning that was also required. The project management was equally disappointing. They randomly arrived to do the work one morning without any forewarning or agreement before I'd even picked a colour or paid the deposit. The samples took so long to be delivered that they arrived one day before the spray was meant to start. The colour wasn't right, forcing me to reschedule the whole job so there was time to get other samples. After another reschedule of theirs, they ordered the paint in the wrong finish (luckily I double checked with them the day before). They no-showed on the day they were meant to spray with no notice - I had to contact them to find out they weren't coming after waiting around for 2 hours. In the end, I estimate that I spent well over 20 hours dealing with the cleanup, organising repairs, and fixing problems that should never have occurred. While I am mostly happy with the final appearance of the cupboards, the overall experience fell well short of what I would expect from a company advertising a full-service professional spray-painting service. I would strongly recommend using a different company.
